One Small Word Says It All

Loving, caring, understanding, and compassionate....

What is it they all have in common?

One word...though it may not look very big, it really is important

For without this we are only to be alone and sometimes lonely...

Devoted, trusted, never judgmental, yes again one word is all that's needed

Always there for you...to share your sad times, and yes, your happy times too

Always bearing a smile...or a hug...or even an ear to listen to your troubles

A shoulder to cry on...often the light at the end of a dark tunnel

You can have one, or many of this one simple word that means so much

At times of desperation...you won't have to look far to find one

This small word is probably one of the most important words there is

If you haven't figured out yet what I am refering to then you're not looking hard enough

For there is always one of these near by...waiting to be called upon

I like to think of myself as one of these so very important things

Like I said one word is all that is needed to put this word into action

That one small word is 'Friend'....if you didn't figure it out

Then perhaps you need to look deeper inside yourself..and follow the criteria

It doesn't take much to be a friend...just be understanding and caring the rest comes naturally
