Only A Dream

Awake and uncertain about so many things

I sense a peace...a calmness not witnessed before

How is this possible?

When I went to bed...all was turmoil

Killings and beatings...total violence

How could this earth have changed so much overnight?

Is it possible...people have realized the devistation?

I look in the mirror...I see fear and total uncertainty

I have changed in my sleep...aged by many years

Could it be caused from my quest for world peace?

Is it possible this undying quest took such a long time?

The last I remember...wars, anger, so much bloodshed

Perhaps I have slept for many years...

This quest...is it that difficult to attain?

All it takes is to love thy fellow man...

Imagine a world like this...no hatred, no need for guns

Is this attainable?...it has to be...I am sure of it...

This can't be the way life on earth was intended to be

Or can it?...What if we all work together?...We can do this...

A bit shaken...I am now fully awake...to what was obviously only a dream
