We're Never Alone

          One day a tiny girl

          Wandered away from the camp,

          She followed a wooded path

With the air being cold and damp.

She was caught in a world of wonders

          With insects, birds, and flowers,

She lost all track of time

          With minutes turning to hours.

She wandered close to a river

          That was treacherous and wild,

And as she got somewhat closer

A gentle voice said 'stay back my child.'

And when the searchers found her

She was sitting on a rock,

She was very calm and unafraid

They thought that she was in shock.

          When questioned by the searchers

She said 'she was not alone,'

She was told to stay away from the river

By a firm but gentle tone.

We all know he watches over us

          No matter where we go,

But do we listen to his warning

When we are told to take it slow.

          We know he watches children

When they are outside at play,

And when their mom calls them all inside

And they gather round and pray.

          Even when sorrow overwhelms us

When a loved one is laid to rest,

We know that he is always near

And we know is plan is the best.

Why is it then that we doubt him

And we seem to feel a bitter chill,

We must all have faith in the future

And allow our lives to be calm and still.

Trust your heart to his kindness

He will give you the best of care,

And when you are faced with danger

You will always know he's there.
